GABA rice is germinated brown rice with a greater amount of the naturally-occurring amino acid gamma-amino butyric acid. GABA rice is also called as “Sprouted brown rice” which contains 10 times more nutrients than milled rice. GABA rice can be made by soaking brown rice in warm water for about 10 – 15 hour, draining water and keeping it in moist condition such as in sheet cloths for 24 hour, and during soaking period, changing the water every 3-4 hour to prevent fermentation and to maintain consistent water temperature. It shows that the cooked of GABA rice is sweeter and softer than regular brown rice.
